After exploring guitar-based blues and rock in the first two Phankl projects, Phil Klahn returned to his first instrument, the piano, for The Weather. The result: a satisfying blend of singer/songwriter tunes that range from the plaintive title track, to gospel and r&b (That Could Have Been Me, Misty Rain), classical vibes (Less and Less) to power ballads (Every Love Song) and pure pop (Boulevard), finishing with a bombastic tip of the hat to Freddy Mercury and Queen in the final track, The Door.
